#RealStaceys - Real faces of families affected by Postpartum Psychosis

Montage-v2

If you've been affected by Postpartum Psychosis you can add your photo here, by tweeting or emailing a photo with your #REALSTACEYS message to andrea@app-network.org.

#RealStaceysAPP supports and campaigns on behalf of #RealStaceys throughout the UK.  While EastEnders' Stacey is fictional, every year 1400 real women battle with Postpartum Psychosis.

Women and families who experience this devastating illness suffer the very real threat of being separated from their baby, or having to move hundreds of miles from the rest of their family in order to be cared for in a Mother and Baby Unit. There are only around half as many beds in the UK as needed.

APP is a registered charity, shortlisted for this year’s National Lottery Health Project of the Year Award, which has done groundbreaking work:

  • Setting up peer support services for women and their families
  • Facilitating research into PP
  • Speaking out, educating, and raising awareness
  • Developing patient information and guidance
  • Campaigning for better services (including Mother & Baby Unit provision)

We rely on grants and donations from the general public to keep going. If you have been moved by Stacey's story in EastEnders (APP, Bipolar UK and Mind have been helping with the storyline further details here), please help us to support #RealStaceys and consider donating to our campaign and spreading the word.
