APP is committed to providing essential guidance to mothers and families affected by, or at high risk of, postpartum psychosis (PP).  As part of this commitment, APP is continually seeking ways to translate our Insider Guides into multiple languages, to ensure this information is accessible to everyone who needs it.

Thanks to the support of Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, the three guides listed below are now available in Arabic, Bengali, Polish, Slovak and Urdu. We strive to support women and families from diverse communities and hope to be able to translate our guides into additional languages in the future. If you would like to help us, please get in touch.

  • Recovery after postpartum psychosis - Mums who have recovered from postpartum psychosis gave us their tips for the first year of recovery and beyond. You can read more about the development of the guides here.
  • Postpartum psychosis: a guide for partners - Postpartum psychosis is a traumatic experience for both women and their partners. Dads and co-parents talked to us about what they had wanted to know, and gave us their ideas for coping during admission, recovery and beyond.
  • Planning pregnancy: a guide for women at high risk of postpartum psychosis - Women with bipolar disorder, or with experience of PP, told us about the issues they faced when planning for a baby. This guide brings together advice from professionals and families about getting the support you need in pregnancy and birth.

Please note, we aim to ensure that our translated information has been reviewed by a perinatal clinician and a person with lived experience - but this has not been possible in some cases. Please contact us with any errors or tone corrections.

If you would like to order hard copies of these guides, email us at: app@app-network.org. Guides are free for individuals and NHS teams. For large or overseas orders, please contact us.

Feedback

Please note that APP relies on the support of partner organisations for translation and while clinical reviews of the guides have been carried out where possible, we encourage feedback from our supporters to help us improve the accuracy and tone of the guides.

We aim to update our translated resources whenever we update our English resources. However, this is not always possible.

If you have feedback on any of the translations on this page, we would be delighted to hear from you at app@app-network.org.

Please note: It would be most helpful if you could state the name of the guide and the page number when highlighting any suggested changes.

With thanks

We would like to thank Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust for funding the translation of our Insider Guides into Arabic, Bengali, Polish, Slovak and Urdu. In particular, we would like to extend our gratitude to Lisa Milne for her hard work in ensuring this information is available to all families affected by PP, and her continued support of APP.

We would also like to thank Dr. Wala Salman, Dr. Jakub Krecichwost, and Dr. Ivana Pristicova, who volunteered to review the Arabic, Polish and Slovak translations, for their dedication and hard work.
