Frankie completes Yorkshire Fell Running Challenge
Running up all thirty mountains in the Yorkshire Dales is not a challenge to be taken lightly for anyone - yet mum of two Frankie has recently completed this incredible feat, something she initially set out to do several years ago.
She chose to raise funds for APP as she completed the final summit after having experienced postpartum psychosis after the birth of her first baby.
Both her fell running and motherhood journey have been full of ups and downs, which she has written about beautifully in the most recent edition of FellRunner magazine:
'I had thought, in the grey days after postpartum psychosis, that I would never go back to fell running or complete my long-cherished and entirely pointless goal of running the Dales 30. Gradually and slowly, I began chipping away at the remaining peaks.'
Far from pointless, we think Frankie's achievement is inspirational, and we're very grateful to her for choosing to share her experiences and help to raise awareness of postpartum psychosis with such a wide audience.
Big congratulations to Frankie for sticking with and completing this epic challenge, and we wish you many happy years of fell running ahead!
