APP took part in three amazing and emotional nights at the Some Voices Speakeasy events at The Troxy, London on 10th, 11th and 12th December. Some Voices were raising money in aid of APP in memory of a member of their choir who tragically lost her life to Postpartum Psychosis earlier this year.
Last month APP Media Advisor Vicky Jepson and ex-BBC colleague Anya Francis completed their trek through Cambodia, celebrating life and fundraising for APP and UCLH charity respectively.
On Saturday 24th November APP hosted a day for 20 of our volunteers in the beautiful venue of Winterbourne House and Gardens in Birmingham. The day was generously funded by the Rosa Woman 2 Woman Fund. It was a special day for everyone who attended, and those of us who facilitated the day.
"On the 29th of October I joined the APP team as a peer support facilitator for the Lancashire and South Cumbria region. This coincided with the open day of the new Chorley MBU, Ribblemere.

A huge thank you to VP&S, a department within Jaguar Land Rover, who hosted a charity fund raising event on Friday 9th November and raised much needed funds for APP!
"We raised £1120, which was split between The Marston Green Lions, who ran the evening for us, Brain Tumour Research and Action on Postpartum Psychosis. The evening took the format of horse racing - the main difference being the horses were hobby horses! There were seven races, containing six horses each; there was an opportunity for race goers to ‘buy and own’ one of the 42 horses, and if your horse won – you got half of the auction money, the other half going to the charities. The purchasing of horses, was a quiet affair for the first couple of races, but it soon gathered pace, with the six horses in the final race, being auctioned off for the princely sum of £167 in total. We had a raffle, which raised a considerable amount of money too.
Thank you to Solihull Moors FC for providing us with the room for the event and to all those, who sponsored races, supplied raffle prizes and made monetary donations."
And it looks like they had a really fun evening!
Thank you to 'London's coolest choir' Some Voices, who have chosen to support APP at their Christmas 'Seasonal Speakeasy' concert this year.
Some Voices are supporting APP after they tragically lost one of their members earlier this year, they say: "Earlier this year Some Voices tragically lost a member and friend of our community to a very rare but very serious mental health condition. Postpartum Psychosis is a severe, but treatable, form of mental illness that occurs after having a baby. It can happen ‘out of the blue’ to women without previous experience of mental illness, and affects 1,400 women in the UK every year.
Every term we support a carefully selected charity, and this term we are proudly supporting ‘Action on Postpartum Psychosis’ who offer vital support for families affected by the illness, as well as fund life- changing research and training. Some Voices have already raised nearly £200 for APP from this terms social events, and we plan to increase this figure dramatically over the coming weeks through our upcoming show ’Seasonal Speakeasy’. We hope to see you there."
A big Thank You to Angela, who completed the Reading Rivermead 10K on Sunday 4th November in aid of APP!
Fortunately the weather held and Angela had a great day fundraising for APP!
Three Cheers for Heloise and team at The Limping Fox pub in Thames Ditton who held a charity quiz night in aid of APP on Sunday 14th October, and raised over £500 in aid of APP!
Heloise, who also took part in Charlotte's team Richmond 10K run on Saturday 20th October, generously supported APP and Charlotte and her family in memory of Charlotte's sister, Amy.
